I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! is famous for riling up its campmates and disagreement breaking out between celebs as the pressure of jungle life gets too much. But Thursday night's episode saw eagle-eyed fans calling out Nigel Farage after an argument broke out between the former politician and TV star Sam Thompson.
After winning six stars for camp in the latest Bushtucker Trial, fan favourite Sam, as the current camp chef, was tasked with making lunch for everyone, along with his sous chef Nigel. However lunch was quickly ruined after the rice burned when Nigel left it 'to reduce' and former Made In Chelsea star Sam fell asleep and didn't check on it. But fans have accused Nigel of setting up the reality star.
Nigel started the lunch by putting the rice on the fire to boil. Speaking to fellow campmate Sam, who had not long returned from completing a Bushtucker Trial, he said: "I've put the rice on and it’s reducing slowly, there’s enough water in there for the moment." He added: "It should be fine for a few minutes". Lying down, Sam replied: "I can sort of chill." But soon, a smell of burning wafted around the camp and it became clear that lunch had been completely forgotten about.
Sam, woken up from his nap by the smell, questioned: "Why does this smell like it’s burning?" In the Bush Telegraph, Nigel explained his version of events and later blamed Sam for ruining the rice. He said: "Everybody was asleep. I thought, 'Well look, we’ve got to get the rice on.' So I put the rice on, the water’s reducing in the rice and soon it’s going to be done." While Sam appeared confused by the series of events and explained to the camera: "I don't know if I've burnt the rice.
