Russia has carried out it's deadliest missile attack on Ukraine overnight since the conflict began killing over 70 people.
The targeted strike took place in the northeastern Sumy region of the country, with the local governor Dmytro Zhyvytskyy confirming that more than 70 soldiers from the Ukrainian army had been killed, after their military base was shelled.
Footage of the aftermath of the attack in Okhytyrka has emerged as collapsed buildings, piles of rubble and emergency services depict a scenes of devastation.
Ceasefire talks between Russia and Ukraine were held on Monday but they failed to reach a breakthrough and negotiators have not said when a new round would take place.
Ukrainian Defence Minister Oleksii Reznikov said on Facebook: "Barbaric rocket attacks and MLRS (multiple launch rocket systems) of peaceful cities are evidence that they are no longer able to fight armed Ukrainians."
