Drivers are reporting huge delays on the A77 this evening following what appears to be a road crash.
At least five police cars and two ambulances have been spotted on the southbound carriageway just outside Kilmarnock.
The crash appears to have taken place between the slip road from the B7038/Ayr Road at Kilmarnock and Coodham.
It was unclear if the road has been closed entirely to traffic or if a single lane is still open.
Police Scotland have been contacted for comment.
