Police have closed a busy road in Dumfries and Galloway after reports of a serious crash involving one vehicle.
The alarm was raised at around 4.45pm on the southbound carriageway of the A74(M) between Junction 14 and 15.
The road remains closed in both directions between Elvanfoot and Beattock as emergency services remain at the scene.
Motorists are being urged to find an alternative route as the closure may remain in place for some time.
