Holly Willoughby will be making her return to TV in the new year, as she's set to co-host the upcoming series of Dancing On Ice with Stephen Mulhern. The TV presenter, 42, signed the deal over Christmas after months of deliberation following her decision to step down from This Morning, after an arrest was made following an alleged plot to 'kidnap and murder' her. Holly had previously hosted both shows with Phillip Schofield, who stepped down from This Morning following rumours of a feud with Holly.
He then resigned from ITV entirely, admitting to having had an "unwise but not illegal" affair with a much younger male colleague. On This Morning, Phillip has been replaced by a rotation of different presenters, while Stephen Mulhern will take his role on Dancing On Ice. Discussing Holly's TV return, an ITV insider told MailOnline: "Holly is a star and everyone was so very much hoping that she would decide to come back.
"After many discussions and a lot of thought, she thought that getting some normality into her life would be a good thing. "There are obvious worries about going on live television, her main priority is her family, ITV have been hugely understanding and have not put any pressure on her at all." Ahead of the announcement, Stephen had been vocal about hoping to work with Holly on the show, 20 years after thye first worked together on Ministry of Mayhem.
The new Deal Or No Deal host said: "I absolutely loved it with Holly. We had a great time.
And the response on social media was amazing. We are talking about Dancing On Ice. But I promise you now nothing has been agreed.
"I've not said yes, and I haven't said no. Would I do it? I think it'd be silly not to do it. But nothing has been fully agreed.
