Stephen Mulhern has shared his excitement over hosting the upcoming series of Dancing On Ice alongside close pal Holly Willoughby, who will be making her highly anticipated TV return on the ITV show. Deal or No Deal host Stephen, 46, has taken over Phillip Schofield's role on Dancing on Ice for the 2024 series after the former This Morning presenter stepped down from his roles at ITV in May 2023, following an 'unwise but not illegal' affair with a younger colleague.
Stephen will be joined by Holly, 42, who has been off screen since October, when she quit This Morning following a terrifying alleged plot to kidnap her. The duo are used to presenting together, having previously fronted shows such as Ministry of Mayhem and Holly & Stephen’s Saturday Showdown.
Stephen also previously filled in for Phillip on Dancing on Ice. This year marks 20 years since Holly and Stephen first teamed up to front Ministry of Mayhem together, and Stephen shared a gushing tribute to his co-star to mark the occasion.
Taking to Instagram, he shared throwback clips of the children's entertainment programme, which aired between 2004 and 2006.
The star penned: "Unbelievably, the first ever Ministry of Mayhem aired 20 years ago TODAY! I loved the years doing this with @hollywilloughby! We’ll be back on your screens this Sunday, live at 6:30pm, doing something just as slippy…" Stephen and Holly have remained good friends over the years, and it has been claimed that he played a big role in Holly's decision to sign up for Dancing on Ice after months away from television. A source exclusively told OK!: “She’s known Stephen for a long time and the dynamic between them will work really well,” our source said.
