Gavin Plumb, who harboured a two-year fantasy about abducting Holly Willoughby, insisted he "wanted the real thing", Chelmsford Crown Court was told. The 37 year old security guard from a shopping centre faces allegations of plotting a "sexually motivated" murder and inciting to kidnap the ex-This Morning host last October.
The trial revealed that Gavin allegedly explored ways to get close to Holly, including considering a tour of her TV studio and seeking employment as her personal security.
Jurors heard that Gavin had amassed 10,322 images of the TV presenter on his phone in a folder named 'Holly', and he had distributed "deepfake pornography images" of her, which were described as "highly sexualised". He is also accused of boasting about knowing her daily routine and the layout of her family home.
Despite denying the charges, Gavin is said to have detailed his disturbing intentions to kidnap, assault, and kill Holly to an undercover American officer, David Nelson, online. Under the alias BigBear, Gavin allegedly disclosed: "I know when she does and don't have security and that she doesn't have CCTV at home - what time she gets up in the morning." Prosecutor Alison Morgan KC painted a chilling picture in court today, detailing the "dark depravity" of the man accused of plotting against the ITV star, reports the Mirror.
