Holby City actress Rosie Marcel has broken her silence on her character Jac Naylor’s heartbreaking death, revealing she ‘fought very hard’ against it. Now, Rosie, who has played the surgeon since 2005, has spoken out on the emotional storyline that marked the end of Holby’s 23 years on our screens.The 44 year old actress admitted: “You know, when I found out that they were going to kill the character I was bereft. She explained: “On a personal note I never reconciled with the fact Jac was going to die. “I understood why they did it but, for me, having been that character for 16 years… the idea of never being able to play her was emotionally very difficult.” Rosie added: “It’s like bereavement.
Yeah, we all went through weird phases!” However, the actress went on to say that she did change her mind when she heard what was in store in the brutal, but beautiful, scenes play out - especially the scenes where Jac’s organs went on to save others lives.
