Kensington Palace have announced the sad reason they didn't announce Kate Middleton's cancer battle sooner - because they didn't know until after her operation. The news comes after the Princess of Wales confirmed her diagnosis in an emotional video to the nation on Friday evening.
The mum-of-three announced she is in the early stages of undergoing preventative chemotherapy treatment. On January 16, the princess underwent a "successful" abdominal procedure in The London Clinic.

"The surgery was successful. However, tests after the operation found cancer had been present. My medical team therefore advised that I should undergo a course of preventative chemotherapy and I am now in the early stages of that treatment."
