Hours later, Ryan would be dead. The victim of a brutal axe killing by his schizophrenic relative Ashley Glennon, the cousin who he was devoted to helping, a man who he trusted with his life.
Ryan is remembered by those by knew him best as someone who 'didn't have a bad bone in his body'. "All he ever did was to be there, in whatever way he could, for those that needed help," they say.
Now, for the first time, following the conclusion of an inquest, the full tragic story of the relationship between Ryan and Ashley Glennon and, crucially, the failings in the run-up to that fateful night, can be told.

A motorsports enthusiast, Ryan had set up the CALM All Porsche Trophy race series, raising awareness and money for people with mental health issues. Born in Urmston, he and wife Michelle, who had been together for around eight years and married for around four, lived in Marple, Stockport.
The couple fostered children together. But Ryan always made time to look out for his cousin Ashley. They 'grew up together', and their 'families were close', Michelle would later recall. They were friends as well as relatives - they had, it seemed, a 'good relationship'.
