King Charles's decision that daughter-in-law Meghan Markle should stay in England on the day of the Queen's death "caused an argument" with Prince Harry, a royal commentator claims. Close family royal members flew to Balmoral on the day of the Queen's death, including Prince Harry and Prince William. However, Meghan, Duchess of Sussex and Kate, Princess of Wales were not present.

It has been reported in Valentine Low's new book that Prince Harry was "summoned" by Queen Elizabeth II after a row ahead of his wedding to Meghan Markle. The royal correspondent - who is the author of the new bombshell book Courtiers: The Hidden Power Behind the Crown - writes that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's wedding was "particularly stressful" with heated discussions over scheduling, announcements and the tiara ahead of their big day. Writer Valentine claims that mum of two Meghan, 41, had been told that the Queen would lend her tiara for her wedding, with an appointment to meet the late monarch's dresser Angela Kelly so she could look at tiaras for the big day.

Meghan Markle was seen overcome with emotion as she joined members of the royal family at the State Funeral for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II at Westminster Abbey on Friday.The Duchess of Sussex was seen wiping a tear from her eye in emotional pictures as the procession left Westminster Abbey for Wellington Arch while members of the royal family watched on.The Queen Consort, the Duchess of Sussex, the Princess of Wales and the Countess of Wessex were seen looking sombre as the King and his siblings marched off. Prince George and Princess Charlotte stood in front of their mother, with George looking directly at the coffin as it passed.

Prince Harry was seen travelling to the Queen's funeral alongside wife Meghan Markle.The 38 year old appeared to be wearing a morning suit, while it's expected the rest of his family who are still working royals will wear military uniform. Meghan, 41, could be seen with a large black hat to mark the sombre affair. Following his beloved grandmother’s death on 8 September, the Duke of Sussex has paid tribute to Her Majesty, not only as a monarch but as a doting grandparent.

It’s believed that Prince Harry was only informed of his grandmother the Queen’s death just five minutes before the Royal Family’s public announcement. The Duke of Sussex rushed to Scotland on the day of the Queen’s passing, but was still airborne when it was announced that she'd died. It’s now been revealed that it was just a matter of moments before the rest of the world found out about the late monarch’s death that her grandson Harry was informed.

Queen Elizabeth II's funeral on Monday 19 September will take place at Westminster Abbey, and King Charles III, 73, confirmed that the day will be a national bank holiday. On the morning of the sombre day, the lying-in-State period will end and the Queen’s Coffin will be taken in procession from the Palace of Westminster to Westminster Abbey, where the State Funeral Service will take place.

A not-so-united front. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will not join the royal family to meet with world leaders ahead of Queen Elizabeth II‘s funeral on Sunday, September 18, after seemingly being uninvited.

The Prince Harry and Meghan Markle drama continued into the weekend as it wasn’t clear if the Sussexes would be attending a pre-funeral reception at Buckingham Palace on the eve of Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral.  The Duke and Duchess of Sussex – who settled in California after stepping down as senior royals in 2020 – reportedly initially received an invitation to the Sunday evening reception, but conflicting reports said they were and weren’t expected to attend.  According to the Telegraph, they have now been uninvited because palace officials insisted that the reception hosted by King Charles III and Camilla, the queen consort, is only for working royals, which Harry and Meghan are not. The coffin of the late Queen Elizabeth II, who died on 8 September, was moved from Buckingham Palace at the highly significant time of 2.22pm to Westminster Hall where it will lie-in-state for members of the public to pay their respects until Monday 19 September, the day of the late monarch's funeral.The Queen's coffin was followed on foot by her four children, King Charles III, 73, Princess Anne, 72, Prince Andrew, 62, and Prince Edward, 58, as well as her grandsons, Prince William, 40, and Prince Harry, 37, - who walked side-by-side - and Peter Phillips, 44, who is the son of Princess Anne.
