UPDATED with latest release date outlook. Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav confirmed Friday that a long-planned Harry Potter series is aiming to debut on Max in 2026.
The target date had previously been either 2025 or ’26.
“We’ve not been shy about our excitement around Harry Potter,” Zaslav told Wall Street analysts on the company’s fourth-quarter earnings call. The exec said he and his colleagues met with Potter creator J.K. Rowling in London a few weeks ago. “Both sides are thrilled to be reigniting this franchise,” he added.
