Harry Maguire trolled Leeds United by saying it is 'always nice' to beat the Elland Road side as Manchester United began their pre-season fixture schedule with a victory.
Erik ten Hag's side beat Leeds 2-0 in Oslo in their maiden pre-season friendly ahead of the 2023/24 season. It was a keenly anticipated match and provided United fans with their first glimpse of Mason Mount in action for the club after his summer transfer from Chelsea.
Youngsters Noam Emeran and Joe Hugill ended up grabbing the goals to decide the encounter. Both goals came after the break as Ten Hag played a different team in each half, with a youthful side taking to the pitch after half-time.

Emeran put United in front just after the hour mark, finishing off a counter-attack to slot home. Hugill then fired home late on to seal the win.
United are back in action this Saturday when they take on French side Lyon at Murrayfield in Edinburgh. The Reds have a busy pre-season schedule before opening their Premier League campaign at Old Trafford against Wolves on the evening of Monday, August 14.
Speculation surrounds Maguire's future at United. He is one of several squad players who could be sold this summer in a bid to raise funds and aid the club's transfer business.
Maguire was not part of the 26-man squad Ten Hag took to Norway for their opening pre-season friendly after being granted extra time off following his international duties with England. All those who were on duty with their nations after the end
