Channel 4 continuity announcer has been praised by viewers after making a "savage" comment. The blink-and-you'll-miss-it moment came at the start of tonight's (April 12) episode of The Great Celebrity Bake Off for Stand Up To Cancer.
While introducing the latest penultimate instalment of Celebrity Bake Off, the announcer stressed that Channel 4 is home to "award-winning content that doesn't cost you a penny". The fleeting comment appeared to be a reference to the government's plans to privatise the channel.
Eagle-eyed Channel 4 viewers were quick to praise the announcer.
