‘Goosebumps’ Renewed for Season 2 at Disney+ as Anthology Series

Danny Ramirez (“Top Gun: Maverick,” “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier”), Ariela Barer (“How to Blow Up a Pipeline,” “Runaways”), Tati Gabrielle (“You,” “Chilling Adventures of Sabrina”), and Spencer Lord (“Riverdale,” “Family Law”) have all joined the hit HBO series’ second season.

Debut feature director Will Gilbey is behind the camera for this one, an action thriller set for a cinema release in April.is lead by the BAFTA nomintated Nikki Amuka-Bird (Knock At The Cabin) and also stars EastEnders’ Zack Morris and Chris Reilly (Slow Horses).

Season 3 of the series will debut on March 1 at midnight on the Starz app before its linear network premiere at 8 p.m.ET/PT in the U.S.

Joe Otterson TV Reporter Yvonne Strahovski has been tapped for the lead role in the upcoming Peacock series “Teacup.” Described as a horror thriller, “Teacup” hails from writer Ian McCulloch with James Wan and Atomic Monster attached to executive produce. Inspired by the Robert McCammon novel “Stinger,” the series is said to follow “a disparate group of people in rural Georgia who must come together in the face of a mysterious threat in order to survive.” Strahovski will star as Maggie Chenoweth. Strahovski has received two Emmy Award nominations for her work on Hulu’s “The Handmaid’s Tale,” on which she has starred as Serena Joy Waterford since the show began.

Helen Hunt (“Mad About You,” “As Good as It Gets”), Christina Hendricks (“Mad Men,” “Good Girls”), Christopher Lloyd (“Back to the Future,” “Who Framed Roger Rabbit”), Dan Bucatinsky (“Scandal,” “Air”), George Wallace (“Clean Slate,” “The Ladykillers”), and Tony Goldwyn (“Scandal,” “Oppenheimer”) are all set to appear in the upcoming season of the Max comedy series. The official logline for Season 3 of “Hacks” states, “A year after parting, Deborah Vance (Jean Smart) is riding high off the success of her standup special while Ava (Hannah Einbinder) pursues new opportunities back in Los Angeles.” Hunt is repped by UTA and Dennis Ardi.

Ashleigh Cummings, Callum Vinson, and John Doman have all joined the show alongside previously announced lead Amanda Seyfried as well as Nicholas Pinnock. The series is described as a suspense thriller that “tells the story of Mickey (Seyfried), a police officer who patrols a Philadelphia neighborhood hard-hit by the opioid crisis.

He joins previously announced Season 4 cast members Eva Longoria and Molly Shannon in the comedy series, alongside leads Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Selena Gomez. Meryl Streep is also set to reprise her role from Season 3.

Joe Otterson TV Reporter The “Outlander” prequel series at Starz has cast four actors as younger versions of key characters from the original show. “Outlander: Blood of My Blood” has added Rory Alexander (“Inland,” “Pistol”), Sam Retford (“Hoard,” “Ackley Bridge”), Séamus McLean Ross (“Rebus,” “Payback”), and Conor MacNeill (“The Tourist,” “Industry”) to its cast. Alexander will play a young Murtagh Fitzgibbons Fraser, originally played by Duncan LaCroix.

The role will mark a return to Apple for Kotsur, who previously starred in the film “CODA,” which was distributed by the streaming arm of the tech giant. In “Foundation,” Kotsur will appear in the role of Preem Palver, described as “the leader of a planet of psychics.” He joins returning series leads Lee Pace and Jared Harris in the sci-fi epic.

Powell will star in the series in addition to co-creating and co-writing the pilot with Waldron, with both serving as executive producers. The show is based on the Chad Powers character created by Eli Manning for his EPSN+ docuseries “Eli’s Places.” Manning wanted to learn more about the walk-on process for college football, so he donned a wig and prosthetic makeup so he could go undercover during the Penn State football tryouts.

Issa López, the creator of “True Detective: Night Country,” will helm the fifth season under her new overall deal with HBO. The renewal comes as little surprise, given the success of “Night Country,” which saw Jodie Foster and Kali Reis star in the fourth installment of the HBO anthology series.

The second season will once again see Pedro Alonso returning as the title character, along with fellow cast members Michelle Jenner as Keila, Tristán Ulloa as Damián, Begoña Vargas as Cameron, Julio Peña Fernández as Roi, and Joel Sánchez as Bruce. The Spanish-language series serves as a prequel to the events of “Money Heist” (a.k.a “La casa de papel”).

Goldtooth joins previously announced series lead Jason Clarke in the show as well as cast members Haley Bennett, Dominic Cooper, and Simone Kessell. Apple has given the show a 10-episode order.

The series was renewed for a fourth season back in June 2022, though it was not reported at the time that it would be the final season.
