Gillian Anderson is speaking out in response to an “absolute bollocks” claim that was written about her.
The Emmy-winning actress starred as Margaret Thatcher in season four of the Netflix series The Crown and the tabloid claim was in connection to the upcoming sixth season of the show.

The UK outlet Metro tweeted, “It’s been reported that The Crown producers have been ‘forced to rewrite their scripts’ after claims Gillian Anderson ‘refused’ to reprise her role as Margaret Thatcher for the sixth and final season of the hit Netflix show.”
Gillian responded to the tweet and wrote, “Absolute bollocks.”
A Netflix spokesperson told the outlet, “Gillian Anderson was never intended to return as Margaret Thatcher.”
It seems Metro has changed its story from saying Gillian “refused” to appear in season six to saying she had scheduling issues.
