Michaela Zee Chance Perdomo‘s “Gen V” character Andre Anderson will not be recast for Season 2 of “The Boys” spinoff series. Perdomo died at the age of 27 in March as a result of a motorcycle accident. In a joint statement released on Sunday, the “Gen V” producers said they will not recast the role because “no one can replace Chance.” “Instead, we have been taking the time and space to recraft our Season 2 storylines as we begin production in May,” the statement continued.
“We will honor Chance and his legacy this season.” Perdomo starred in the first season of “Gen V” as Andre Anderson, a student at Godolkin University who harnesses magnetic manipulation abilities. In the season finale, Andre — along with fellow students Marie Moreau (Jaz Sinclair), Jordan Li (Derek Luh and London Thor) and Emma Meyer (Lizze Broadway) — is last seen being held in a high-security facility after the massacre at God U. The producers issued a statement following the news of the actor’s death, saying: “We can’t quite wrap our heads around this.
For those of us who knew him and worked with him, Chance was always charming and smiling, an enthusiastic force of nature, an incredibly talented. Even writing about him in the past tense doesn’t make sense. We are so sorry for Chance’s family, and we are grieving the loss of our friend and colleague.
Hug your loved ones tonight.” Several cast members shared a separate joint statement paying tribute to Perdomo, including Maddie Phillips, Luh, Asa Germann, Broadway and Sean Patrick Thomas. “Our hearts are with Chance’s loved ones as we grieve this shocking loss,” the statement read. “We will remember the special moments we had together, his infectious smile that could light up any room, his warm hugs
