Gary Oldman Is ‘Mank’ In Trailer For David Fincher’s Film About The Making Of ‘Citizen Kane’

Following several years of detours, “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button,” “The Social Network,” David Fincher went back to one of his bread and butter obsessions, serial killers, and the procedural film with Netflix’s series “Mindhunter.” In a way riffing on things he had already done in “Zodiac,” “Mindhunter” was a continuation of his preoccupations with fixation, through the lens of serial killers, but reverse-engineered, by those that try and catch and understand them: the FBI.

An epic looking film, it certainly seems like it will stand out from the pack, especially when movies of this size and scope have almost entirely shifted into 2021 and even 2022, due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

David Fincher's Mank dropped today, and for everyone keeping track at home, this is his first feature film since 2014's Gone Girl. It shows the director going full Old Hollywood for Netflix, telling the story of the making of Citizen Kane through the perspective of screenwriter Herman J.
