Gary Neville has praised Erik ten Hag, claiming that Cristiano Ronaldo should have to accept a new role under the new manager at the club in the wake of four successive substitute appearances.
In today's 3-1 win over Arsenal he was brought onto the pitch in the 57th minute in place of goalscorer Antony, showing that Ten Hag is not just giving the player cameo appearances and that he values his contributions from the bench. Ronaldo got himself into numerous dangerous positions during his appearance but was unable to score his first goal of the season.
Having previously expressed his desire to leave the club during the recent summer transfer window, Ronaldo was unable to secure a move away from Old Trafford and could now be consigned to a season on the club's bench. This is according to Sky Sports commentator Gary Neville who said that the player and manager must get on with things even if it is difficult for the 37-year-old.

"They’ve got to get on with it, he could be a big player for United. He may not always be starting which will be difficult for him."
Despite his comments, Neville chose to praise the team for their performance, complimenting both goalscorers while going on to declare 'a good day for Manchester United.
He said: "It’s a brilliant game, absolutely brilliant, really enjoyed. Good day for Antony, good day for Rashford and a good day for Manchester United."
