Gary Neville labelled Manchester United a "pub team" after his fellow pundit Jamie Carragher poked fun following Thiago Alcantara's performance.
The Liverpudlian posted a video on social media referencing Neville's claim that "Bayern Munich don't let anyone half-decent go", after the Bundesliga champions sold Thiago to Liverpool in 2020. The Spanish midfielder put in a man-of-the-match performance in Liverpool's 4-0 win over United on Tuesday.
Neville was outspoken in his criticism of his former club before, during and after their trip to Anfield as Ralf Rangnick's side looked to dent Jurgen Klopp's title aspirations and hand the advantage to their cross-city rivals Manchester City. However, Liverpool ran riot at United's expense on a humiliating night for Neville and other United fans.

In the aftermath of the match, the Sky Sports duo continued their back-and-forth with Carragher basking in the glory of United's disappointing showing. Taking to Twitter, the former Liverpool defender tweeted: "#Thiago," accompanied with a dancing emoji and two laughing faces accompanied by a video showing Neville's comment followed by his chant.
Neville, an eight-time Premier League winner at Old Trafford, was in disbelief at the showing of his former club against one of their fiercest rivals. He said: "The players are broken, they are broken players.
"There are some decent players out there, they have talent and have played at good levels, but they are finished and they are broken this season. It is a mess."
