Gary Neville struggled to hold back his disgust at Manchester United's first-half display against Liverpool.
Optimism wasn't high as United travelled to quadruple-chasing Liverpool off the back of a 5-0 hammering at Old Trafford in October and with six crucial players unavailable but the first-half display perhaps was even worse than expected. Despite having a top-four place to fight for and coming up against the club's greatest rivals, United's players put in another gutless performance.
It took less than five minutes for the hosts to take the lead as they ripped through United's five-man defence with ease before Mohamed Salah teed up Luis Diaz to slam home. Paul Pogba was then lost to injury five minutes later and the game was over as a contest shortly afterwards.

Liverpool were able to pass their way around United in complete comfort which led to them stringing together an excellent move that ended in Sadio Mane wonderfully clipping the ball over the top for Salah to run onto and score. After the second goal, Neville didn't hold back in his criticism of the team while on commentary duty for Sky Sports.
"This Man Utd team are a waste of space," he said. "There's a long way to go in this game but that brings fear, not hope."
