Keen gardeners will be itching to get outside and start working on making their outdoor space looking lush and pretty again for the warmer summer months.
And while it may still be some time until the weather is hot enough to sit outside and take in the scenery, certain gardening jobs should be carried out during the month of March for the best results come summer.
That's according to The Mediterranean Gardener on TikTok, who has made a video detailing a few tasks all gardeners must do now in order to create a healthy outdoor space by the time the warmer months roll around.
The social media content creator, whose real name is Michael, often posts helpful gardening tips to his loyal following of over 213.8k people.
His latest video, which is focused on gardening jobs to carry out in March, has amassed an impressive 86.6 thousand views to date - with many fellow gardeners in the comments thanking him for sharing his advice.
He says the first thing you should do is feed your roses, as this will help to create healthier blooms and improve their resistance to disease. You should also finish pruning them - the earlier in the month you do this, the better.
Michael also recommends replanting any forced bulbs that you currently keep inside, placing them in your garden borders once the display is over. When it comes to lilies and other summer flowering bulbs, you should place these into pots and borders too.
For those of us with dogwoods or willows in the garden, March is a good time to prune these. Michael recommends cutting them 'right down to the base' in order to promote 'vigorous new growth' in time for summer.
