A gang who attacked two brothers with knives, belts and bottles in a terrifying mass brawl outside a bar on Wilmslow Road have avoided jail.
The siblings were standing outside Bar 256 on Wilmslow Road at around 2am on August 10 2019, Manchester Crown Court heard, when they became involved in a fight with another man.
The man, who has not been brought before the courts, was said to be the ‘main instigator’.

After one of the brothers was pulled away from the man, Dion Gorman, of Fallowfield, became involved. Words were exchanged and one of the brothers ended up punching the 20-year-old in the face.
Jack Cretney and Mleek Morgan, both aged 20 at the time, then moved towards the brother and began punching him, prosecutor Charlotte Crangle said.
Gorman was pushed against some railings by a woman who was ‘attempting to calm him down’ but he then jumped over and went back in the direction of the brother.
CCTV footage then showed one of the brothers falling to the floor with others surrounding him as his sibling tried to help.
“He recalled seeing his brother being bombarded with punches, pushes and kicks, and was surprised that he wasn’t also knocked to the ground,” Ms Crangle said.
“He saw both Jack Cretney and Dion Gorman punching and kicking his brother while he was on the floor.
“At one point he also saw a male with a knife (not any of these defendants), and became fearful that they were going to be stabbed.
“He managed to get to his brother and help him up off the floor, but then felt blood to the back of his head and realised he had been injured.”
Staff from the bar came over the road to try and break up the fight, but it continued, with the other brother
