It comes amid efforts to focus on more effective treatments, according to the NHS medical director Professor Sir Stephen Powis.
In the past, these cust-cutting efforts haven't been effective, according to the Express. The proposed cuts fit into a bigger discussion within the Tory government as Rishi Sunak attempts to find cash for its "fiscal black hole" of up to £50 billion in public finances.
The list has been drawn up by NHS chiefs along with senior medics at the Academy of Medical Royal Colleges.
Some procedures that look set to lose funding include corrective surgeries for congenital breast asymmetry and male gynecomastia.
Speaking to the Daily Telegraph, Prof Sir Stephen said the service aims to give patients "the most effective treatments possible at an affordable price for taxpayers".
He added they "routinely assess and change services to make sure they are as efficient as possible".
Professor Powis said medical experts have already cracked down on "medications and interventions that are of low value for patients and take money away from the public purse".
In 2020, it was proposed that 31 procedures would be scrapped, among them non-elective treatments such as adenoid removal for glue ear and imaging for lower back pain.
A spokesperson for the Academy of Medical Royal Colleges said: "Any money saved from procedures which the evidence tells us are no longer clinically appropriate is spent on procedures

After they strike up a romance and he shows her his, um, moves, she suggests that they take his act abroad – to foggy London town! While there, Mike is forced to find new dancers and construct a show from the ground up, while also connecting with his love’s young daughter.Steven Soderbergh, who directed the first “Magic Mike” but sat out the sequel (only serving as editor, camera operator and cinematographer, as this was during the brief period where he was “retired”) returns to direct “Magic Mike’s Last Dance.” Originally intended as an HBO Max original movie, as Soderbergh’s recent “No Sudden Move” and “KIMI” were, “Magic Mike’s Last Dance” was recently moved into pole position (get it?) – over Valentine’s Day weekend, 2023.
