EXCLUSIVE: Marvista Entertainment, the Fox-owned studio, is turning Seraphina Nova Glass novel On A Quiet Street into a television series.
The company, which is behind Chelsea Peretti’s First Time Female Director and Hallmark series The Way Home, has optioned the thriller for a limited series.
It will partner with Canadian producer Neshama Entertainment, in which it owns a stake, to produce the series.
The book was published by HarperCollins’ Graydon House Books last year and is set in an exclusive Oregon coast community.
On a Quiet Street tells the story of two female best friends – Paige and Cora. Cora thinks her husband, Finn, is cheating – she just needs to catch him in the act. That’s where Paige comes in. Paige lost her son to a hit-and-run accident last year, and she’s drowning in the kind of grief that makes people do reckless things like spying on the locals, searching for proof her son’s death was no accident…and agreeing to Cora’s plan to reveal what kind of man Finn really is. All the while, their reclusive new neighbor, Georgia, is acting stranger and stranger every day. But what could such a lovely young mother possibly be hiding?
Marvista’s SVP, Strategy and Content Angie Day and VP, Development, Beth Bruckner O’Brien will head up development on the series and the book option was negotiated with Grandview Entertainment.
On a Quiet Street is Nova Glass’ latest book. She is the author of The Vanishing Hour and Such A Good Wife and her fifth book, The Vacancy in Room 10, comes out in April 2024. She is repped by Grandview, Sharon Bowers at Folio Literary Agency in New York, Neda Niroumand at Link Entertainment for screenwriting, and Robert A. Freedman Agency in New York for playwriting.
