Four men have been charged in connection with the death of a Scots tiler who was left dying in a pool of his own blood on his mum's doorstep in East Renfrewshire.
Tony Ferns, 33, was allegedly attacked and stabbed as he sat in the front seat of his Audi in Thornliebank on the morning of April 18, 2019. He managed to make it back to the family home on Roukenburn Street but tragically died in front of his devastated mum, Phyllis.
Four years after the incident Police Scotland have announced that four men, 37, 48, 54 and 67 years, have been charged in connection with the death and are due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court today, Friday, September 15.
Tony's mum had previously described the heartache at losing her son.
She said: "I can hardly put into words how devastated I am at the loss of my son. The pain I feel is unimaginable and while I know nothing will bring him back I need to know who killed him and why his life was cut short.”
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Four men aged 37, 48, 54 and 67 years have been arrested and charged in connection with the death of 33-year-old Tony Ferns in Thornliebank on Thursday, 18 April, 2019.
"They are due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Friday, 15 September, 2023"
