Football finance expert Kieran Maguire has admitted it is possible that Manchester City could be handed a 'significant points reduction' as they await the outcome of their Premier League investigation.
City, back in February, were charged with breaching dozens of financial rules, dating back to the 2009/10 season. The Blues have always maintained their innocence and have always vehemently denied any breaches of financial rules.
However, Everton's recent 10-point deduction for a breach of financial rules has increased calls for the investigation into City's alleged offences to gather pace. There has also been strong calls for the club to be hit the toughest possible punishment(s) if found guilty.

Talk of expulsion from the Premier League has been touted, with Chelsea also at risk of being being hit with the same punishment for their own alleged offences. However, though nothing can be ruled out, Maguire, who co-hosts The Price of Football Podcast, doubts that City will be kicked out of the top-flight, though he has warned City may 'easily' be handed a 30-point deduction.
"Relegation is a possible punishment," Maguire told Football Insider. If you take a look at the Premier League handbook, there are unlimited punishments that they can hand out, including expulsion from the Premier League.
"So that is very much the nuclear option. Is it possible? Yes, but not probable – that is my reaction to it.
"But we could be looking at a very significant points reduction. We could easily end up with a 30-point deduction, which for City could still mean European
