Shocking footage has shown a sickening attack on a man as he was battered by three thugs in East Kilbride.
In the video the victim can be heard screaming in pain for mercy, telling his attackers they had broken his leg.
The Record understands that the victim received hospital treatment for leg and head injuries after the incident outside Scholar's Gate in the town, shortly after 7pm on Sunday, April 30.
The video shows three men attacking the victim, who is believed to be 21, with one in particular raining sickening punches and kicks on the man's head and body. In the clip he can be seen stamping down on the victim as he lays defenceless on the ground.
He then picks the victim up and slams him onto the ground as a passing car beeps its horn. One of the men involved can be seen trying to pull the man away from the victim, whilst another attacker runs into shot with his hood up and aims kicks at the victim.
In the footage the attackers can be heard shouting “come on then ya wee shan,” with the victim screaming “you've broke my leg, my leg's broken broken - you've got me, my leg's genuinely broken”.
Police have since launched a probe into the incident and they are appealing for information.
DC Frank Donaghy said: “Our enquiries into this incident are ongoing. We understand there were other people in the area around the time who may have witnessed this disturbance. We would urge anyone who may have information to get in touch.”
Anyone with any information is asked to contact police on 101. Information can also be left anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

Chris Willman Senior Music Writer and Chief Music Critic “The Voice” has not been much concerned with current Broadway voices until now. That’ll change in a big way with this coming Monday’s episode, which will feature a show-stopping number from “Shucked” — marking the first time a song from a currently running Broadway show has been featured on the long-running singing competition series. The song is “Independently Owned,” a major nightly showcase for Tony nominee Alex Newell. It’s been cited as the rare example of an original Broadway musical having its first and possibly biggest standing-ovation number come in the middle of the first act… and it’s a testament to “Shucked” as a whole that the production doesn’t feel like it’s going downhill from that early barn-burner.

Michael Schneider Variety Editor at Large Ken Marino credits his pal Adam Scott for making the unlikely and unexpected “Party Down” revival a reality. “Adam helped guide this and make this happen in a real way,” he tells Variety’s Awards Circuit podcast. “I think everybody in that cast recognized how special it was, and to just kind of go back and to get to do some more, to be with these people again, creatively, it’s a real gift.” The first two seasons of “Party Down” aired on Starz in 2009 and 2010; the revival takes place a decade after the show’s last episode and features the returns of Marino as Ron, the slightly clueless catering manager who now owns the business — well, running it out of his van — and Scott as Henry, the sardonic failed actor who’s now a teacher and working on the side with Party Down to help pay for his alimony.
