New CCTV footage has been released, apparently showing a police van following two boys on an electric bike shortly before they crashed and were killed.
The video was taken at 6.02pm, around a minute before the crash, which killed best friends Harvey Evans, 15, and 16-year-old Kyrees Sullivan. However, the timestamp on the video is incorrectly set an hour earlier, police said.
The fatal accident took place in Stanway Road, Ely, Wales. Another CCTV video emerged on Tuesday, also showing a police van following an electric bike, reports Wales Online.
South Wales Police have said the CCTV is a focal point of an investigation into the crash. A spokesperson for the Independent Office for Police Conduct has confirmed the watchdog will be investigating.
In a press conference on Wednesday, Deputy Chief Constable Rachel Bacon gave the following timeline for the events on the day of the crash:
The original CCTV appeared to show a police van following two people on a bike in Frank Road, and another appeared to show a chase was time-stamped to 5.56pm.
South Wales Police and Crime Commissioner Alun Michael had said officers were not chasing the two teenagers when they were killed in the bike crash.
Harvey and Kyrees's families released tributes to the boys through the police.
Kyrees's loved ones described him as "a loving, caring, handsome young man", while Harvey's family said he had "a big heart" and "lived life to the full".
Cars were torched and fireworks were thrown at the police during riots in Ely on Monday, shortly after the crash.
Around 150 people turned up for a large disturbance, but Harvey's family have now called for "peace".

Chris Willman Senior Music Writer and Chief Music Critic “The Voice” has not been much concerned with current Broadway voices until now. That’ll change in a big way with this coming Monday’s episode, which will feature a show-stopping number from “Shucked” — marking the first time a song from a currently running Broadway show has been featured on the long-running singing competition series. The song is “Independently Owned,” a major nightly showcase for Tony nominee Alex Newell. It’s been cited as the rare example of an original Broadway musical having its first and possibly biggest standing-ovation number come in the middle of the first act… and it’s a testament to “Shucked” as a whole that the production doesn’t feel like it’s going downhill from that early barn-burner.
