Matt Donnelly Senior Film WriterThe bold and emotional true story of the survivors who spoke out against Hollywood mogul Harvey Weinstein was always the stuff of great cinema.On Wednesday, CInemaCon got a look at that movie: Universal’s “She Said.”The film is a dramatic adaptation of the book by Megan Twohey and Jodi Kantor, the reporting duo whose Weinstein exposé in the New York Times “created a domino effect and accelerated the #MeToo movement,” said star Carey Mulligan on stage at the annual convention of movie theater owners.Mulligan and Zoe Kazan portray Twohey and Kantor, respectively. The trailer features supporting players including Patricia Clarkson and Samantha Morton.

It wasn’t Billy on the Street but Billy Eichner on the Strip at this year’s edition of CinemaCon, as he wowed the exhibitor crowd with clips from his upcoming rom-com “Bros.” The film has been heralded as the first studio romantic comedy to feature an entirely LGBTQ+ cast, and the studio was not afraid to sing (or in Eichner’s case shout) those praises. Eichner was in Vegas to introduce “the most exciting thing to happen in Caesar’s Palace since Adele refunds.” And he was astonished that we got two movies about a “talking hedgehog” before a film with a wholly gay cast. But he said that though it provides opportunities for underrepresented voices, it still is an entertaining film that can sell tickets.

Once back, he drowns into the memories of a distant life he spent in hometown.Martone will be returning to a Cannes competition berth with “Nostalgia” 27 years after his Elena Ferrante adaptation “L’amore molesto” (“Troubling Love”) launched in competition from the Croisette in 1995.

But fear not, as Netflix announced that it will release the previously scrapped film in 2023, with Chloë Grace Moretz (“Kick-Ass”), Riz Ahmed (“Sound of Metal”) and Eugene Lee Yang (“Spring Bloom”) in the leading roles.“Nimona’s always been a spunky little story that just wouldn’t stop,” Stevenson wrote in a tweet Monday.
