‘Killers Of The Flower Moon’ Blooms With $44M Global; India’s ‘Leo’ Sweet In Opening; ‘Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour’ Rises To $165M WW – International Box Office

There were two major new entries this weekend at the international box office, one local (Tamil thriller Leo: Bloody Sweet) and one from Hollywood. Starting with the latter, Martin Scorsese’s Killers of the Flower Moon from Apple, Paramount and Imperative Entertainment, had a big opening with $21M in 63 offshore markets and No. 1s in 24 of those, including France, Germany, Australia, Spain, Netherlands and Switzerland. The global bow, factoring in its strong domestic opening, was $44M; great for a period movie with a long running time and at a moment when talent could not promote it due to the actors strike.

Hollywood’s Jewish founders knew exactly what a pogrom is. So why is its elite silent on Hamas now?

Kirk Douglas.Between them, a group of Jews whose families had lived in constant fear of persecution gave America, and the world, the golden age of cinema. Classics from “The Wizard of Oz” and “Singin’ in the Rain” to “Ben Hur” and “Gone with the Wind” exist because of them.So why, after the most heinous mass murders of Jews since the Holocaust, is Hollywood incapable of recognizing its own history — and why does it have such a Jew problem? In the days since the Hamas attacks in Israel, the powerful and the rich have truly exposed themselves.Maha Dakhil, co-head of motion pictures at CAA and agent to Tom Cruise, Madonna, Reese Witherspoon, Olivia Wilde, and American Israeli Natalie Portman, this week accused Israel of “genocide.”She re-posted, “You’re currently learning who supports genocide,” before adding her own caption: “That’s the line for me.” John Cusack, that one-time 80s heartthrob, wrote on X: “I was out at the Palestinian march in Chicago.

‘The Light in the Darkness’ Creator Shares How His Video Game Can Educate People About the Holocaust

Luc Bernard Can video games tell stories about the Holocaust? Can this medium encourage the audience to relate and care more? I absolutely believe so. That’s why I self-funded, directed and released the Holocaust videogame “The Light in the Darkness,” which is currently available on PS5, PS4 and PC. One of my core issues with education on the Holocaust is that those murdered are treated as numbers, not human beings.
