And the big pics keep on comin’ to SXSW. This afternoon the festival made it known that the Alex Garland directed Civil War from A24 is making its world premiere on March 14 at the Paramount Theater in Austin, TX. This ahead of the movie’s wide release on April 12.

While IMDb incorrectly lists a runtime of 3 hours and 15 minutes, A24 confirmed to Variety that the film is under two hours long.

As previously announced, “Silent Roar” and “Fremont” will bookend the festival, which includes 24 feature films, five retrospective titles, five short film programs and an outdoor screening weekend with seven features. A hybrid adaptation of Robert Louis Stevenson’s iconic novella “The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde,” Hope Dickson Leach’s film transposes the action from London to Victorian Edinburgh. Ian Jefferies’ “Choose Irvine Welsh” is a documentary about the renowned “Trainspotting” author and features his admirers including Iggy Pop, Martin Compston, Danny Boyle, Bobbie Gillespie, Gail Porter, Rowetta and Andrew Macdonald.

A series adaptation of Never Let Me Go, the Kazuo Ishiguro novel that was adapted as a film starring Carey Mulligan, Keira Knightley and Andrew Garfield, is no longer moving forward at FX, sources close to the project have confirmed to Deadline. Production had not yet begun.

James Corden has a new project! On Tuesday, Nickelodeon announced that it has inked a multi-platform deal with Fulwell 73, the production company headed up by Ben Winston and the 41-year-old  host.Corden and Winston will produce both an animated movie and an animated TV series based off of the children's book , which was first published in 2018.
