Malcolm Spellman is the mind behind Disney+’s biggest hit to date, “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier” (at least according to third-party sources, Disney won’t release internal viewing statistics). You can imagine his internal frustration, however, over a recent trade industry article that suggested that because he wasn’t given the traditional “showrunner” title (he’s credited as head writer), his contributions were overshadowed by Marvel Studios’ creative executives.
Anthony Mackie who recently starred in Marvel's The Falcon and the Winter Soldier became the beloved new Captain America in the series. The actor's character of Sam Wilson was termed as the 'deserving' successor to Steve Roger's Captain by fans but it seems Mackie's kids haven't been far too thrilled about the same.
“We knew from the beginning we wanted to position this as a very, very modern superhero show,” said Malcolm Spellman, creator, executive producer and writer of the Disney+ series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, which sees Sam Wilson/Falcon and Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier team up on a global adventure.
