A prosecco-guzzling passenger who threw a tantrum on a TUI flight called a member of the cabin crew a 'p*ff' seconds before she was arrested at Manchester Airport. The pilot considered diverting the plane as staff dealt with Kesley Hughes' strop.
The 32-year-old mum was on a flight from Almeria in Spain to Manchester last October when she was asked to end a FaceTime call during the safety demonstration. She kicked off after she was told she couldn't charge her phone.
Hughes said that decision was 'f***ing ridiculous', before shouting 'sausage' at a steward and making a 'bent hand' gesture, which he believed was a reference to his sexuality.
Manchester Crown Court heard the pilot even gave staff permission to use a restraint kit on Hughes, but it wasn't eventually used. She pleaded guilty to using threatening words or behaviour; failing to obey the command of a pilot; and entering and aircraft when drunk.

Hughes walked away from court with a suspended jail sentence. Earlier, prosecutor Nick Roxborough said Hughes was on her way to Manchester from Spain with her partner on October 22.
When she was told to fasten her seatbelt, she said: "I can't fasten it, I'm fat." As the flight was about to take off, Hughes started 'shouting and screaming', worrying other passengers.
She swigged from a bottle of prosecco, which was confiscated, and vaped. She was given a 'notice of action', which she ignored. When the flight landed in Manchester, Hughes called the steward a 'p*ff' before she was detained by cops.
