Manchester United legend Roy Keane joked that former Liverpool midfielder Danny Murphy was a "f****** idiot" as he recalled an altercation between the pair during their playing days
The Irishman came up against the Merseyside club on 26 occasions during his career with United and Nottingham Forest. He was on the winning side 10 times, drawing seven and losing nine. Keane also received more bookings against against Liverpool (11) than any other side before retiring.
Having won seven Premier League titles, four FA Cups and the Champions League with the Reds, Keane, who made over 450 appearances, clearly enjoyed a successful career at Old Trafford. While he is often remembered as a tough-tackling midfielder, the 51-year-old was also a wonderful technician - as Jamie Carragher recently recalled.

"Roy was a brilliant passer of the ball," Carragher said, as per Liverpool Echo. "And everything went through him from the back four. So in terms of beating Manchester United it wouldn’t be a case of let’s have a fight, let’s do a bad tackle - things like that. It would almost be like ‘stop him getting the ball’. Stop Manchester United playing."
Keane - who looked visibly uncomfortable while being lauded by Carragher - quickly interrupted his former opponent, with the ex-United man going on to discuss a clash with Murphy during a game between the two sides at Old Trafford.
"Do you know who had a go at me one time at Old Trafford?" Keane
