Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney believes Manchester City's recent experience of the Premier League title run-in will see them pip Arsenal this season.
Heading into this weekend's fixtures, City currently find themselves eight points behind Mikel Arteta's side with a game in hand over them. The Blues could cut that gap to five points before the Gunners have kicked a ball on Saturday when they host Liverpool at the Etihad Stadium in the early kick-off.
Arsenal host Leeds United a couple of hours later hoping to either respond or extend their advantage further. Despite the north London club being as far in front as they are at the moment, Rooney believes that Pep Guardiola's team have what it takes to overtake the Gunners and retain their crown.

Speaking to CNN, the current DC United boss said: "I hope Arsenal do win it [but] I think City will pip them to it. It’s going to be intriguing.
"I think because Arsenal have not been in this position for a long time, and it can be a lot of pressure to go with that. Once you start getting into the last 10 games of the season that’s when the real pressure starts.
"And so I’m really interested to see if they can sustain what they’ve been doing all season."
One player that City may have to do without on Saturday is their talisman Erling Haaland. Haaland was not seen on Thursday as the City squad trained ahead of the visit of Liverpool.
A groin issue kept the Norwegian out of his country's Euro 2024 qualifiers and led to him attending a hospital in Marbella for examinations.
When asked for his thoughts on Haaland, Rooney simply replied: "Incredible, a player I love watching. He's going to break quite a few records that is for sure."
