Shop signage collapsed in Ayr town centre late last night.
The entire shop front of the former Mothercare store crashed to the ground just before 11pm
Police were called to 149-153 High Street at 10.45pm and taped off the scene but have confirmed this afternoon that they've had no further involvement.
The extensive damage could been seen this morning with one shopper remarking that the signage falling "could have killed someone".
South Ayrshire Council workers also arrived on the scene today but appeared to be unable to take away the debris.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We were made aware at around 10.45pm that shop signage had fallen down, but had no further involvement."
