Exploding Kittens is the first time that Netflix developed a TV series and a mobile video game at the same time.
The game launched earlier this year and you can now watch a teaser trailer (above) for the animated series that stars the voice talent of Tom Ellis.
The series follows the eternal conflict between heaven and hell as it reaches epic proportions when both God and the devil are sent to Earth — in the bodies of chunky house cats.
Ellis is God Cat and the cast also includes Abraham Lim, Lucy Liu, Ally Maki, Mark Proksch and Sasheer Zamata.
It was originally set to launch this year but no premiere date has been announced.
The series comes from Mike Judge and Greg Daniels’ nascent animation company Bandera Entertainment.
The pair will exec produce alongside showrunners Shane Kosakowski and Matthew Inman, Bandera’s Dustin Davis, Peter Chernin and Jenno Topping for the Chernin Entertainment Group and Elan Lee, who created the original card game alongside Inman.
