A PR executive told a jury of the moment Ryan Giggs allegedly headbutted her with 'real intent' following a row at a Manchester hotel. Kate Greville claimed the former Manchester United and Wales footballer 'deliberately wanted to hurt' her during the alleged attack, which she said occurred after she told him a man had asked her out for a drink.
Mr Giggs, 48, denies assaulting Ms Greville at any time during their relationship. He also denies assaulting her sister Emma Greville during the same incident at Mr Giggs' home in Worsley, Salford.
Mr Giggs has also pleaded not guilty to behaving towards Ms Greville in a controlling and coercive manner between August 2017 and November 2020 during their on-off relationship. The pair originally met in 2013, when Tangerine, the PR firm she was employed by, worked with Mr Giggs on the launch of Hotel Football in Manchester.

Prosecutors claim that Ms Greville, who gave evidence in court from behind a screen and fought back tears at times, had been subjected to a 'litany of abuse, both physical and psychological' during their relationship which has been described as 'toxic'. Ms Greville had lived with Mr Giggs at his Worsley home since the start of the lockdown in March 2020.
She told jurors that she'd decided she was going to end their relationship 'in secret' while Mr Giggs was away with his job as the manager of the Wales national football team. Jurors at Manchester Crown Court have heard that the alleged assaults on the Greville sisters came after Kate Greville and Mr Giggs had spent the evening of November 1, 2020, at the Stock Exchange hotel.
