Erik ten Hag has revealed that his 'one interest' immediately following his appointment by Manchester United is to ensure that Ajax finishes the season strongly and clinch the Eredivisie title.
After months of waiting, United have finally confirmed their next permanent manager with Ten Hag agreeing to join the club on a three-year deal, with the option of a further 12 months. Ralf Rangnick has been in interim charge of the side since December following the sacking of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in November.
United have paid a £1.7million to Ajax to release the 52-year-old from his contract — which was due to expire next year — in Amsterdam. Ten Hag will officially take over at Old Trafford following the conclusion of the season but he has plenty of work to do before then in the Netherlands.

There are still five games remaining in the Eredivisie and Ajax are currently embroiled in a tight title race with great rivals PSV Eindhoven. The Amsterdamers lost to PSV in the recent KNVB Cup final but hold a four-point lead at the top of the table and have a significant goal difference advantage.
Before he leaves for Manchester, Ten Hag has made it clear his first priority is to ensure his current side clinch a third title under his stewardship and automatically qualify for the Champions League.
"I'm happy that it has been finalized and that it has been officially announced," the Dutchman told Ajax's official website. "That clarity is important.
"But I only have one interest now and that's these last five games. I want to finish my time here on a positive note, by winning the league. By doing so, we'll qualify directly for the Champions League. Ajax belongs there."
