Eric Bana to Star in Netflix Limited Series ‘Untamed’ From Mark L. Smith, Elle Smith (EXCLUSIVE)

Joe Otterson TV Reporter Netflix has ordered the limited series “The Beast in Me” with Claire Danes set to star, Variety has learned. The series hails from writer Gabe Rotter, with Howard Gordon attached to serve as showrunner. The series reunites Gordon and Danes, as they previously worked together on the hit Showtime series “Homeland.” Danes starred in the series, which Gordon co-created and executive produced.

It’s not every day that a small Australian crime indie starring Eric Bana gets a sequel, but here we are. Today, IFC Film unveiled the gripping trailer for their thriller “Force of Nature: The Dry 2,” a sequel to the 2020 Aussie crime film “The Dry.” This heart-pounding sequel, based on Jane Harper’s best-selling novels, stars the aforementioned Bana, reprising his role as Australian Federal Agent Aaron Folk.

Selome Hailu Though it was originally billed as a limited series, “The Last Thing He Told Me” is returning for a second season at Apple TV+. Season 1, which premiered in April 2023, was based on Laura Dave’s novel of the same name. Dave has newly set a sequel novel for publication in 2025, which will serve as the basis for Season 2.

Ethan Shanfeld As “The Office” showrunner Greg Daniels looks to create a new series in the world of Dunder Mifflin, he’s tapped “Nathan for You” co-creator Michael Koman to help lead the project, sources tell Variety. Daniels and Koman would serve as co-creators of the prospective series, which has not yet been greenlit to series and is still in development at Universal Television. It is not a reboot of “The Office” but is set in the same universe, meaning it would likely be set in a different office setting with all new characters.

Joining Rosalind in the production is EastEnders star Jessica Plummer, Fool Me Once’s Richard Armitage, Three Little Birds’ Lenny Henry, Happy Valley’s Steve Pemberton, and The Stranger’s Paul Kaye.

AC/DC’s Brian Johnson and Dire Straits’ Mark Knopfler are set to star in a new documentary series, named Johnson and Knopfler’s Music Legends. The six-part series will see the two classic rockers explore the lives of six other music legends, with the show set to run weekly on Sky Arts from April 25. Each episode will see Johnson and Knopfler examine the careers of, respectively, Tom Jones, Sam Fender, Cyndi Lauper, Nile Rodgers, Carlos Santana and Emmylou Harris, with the hosts also playing live with the guests on the episodes.

The untitled single-camera series hails from writer and director Jame Anderson. It is loosely based on stories from Mark Greene’s book “Unsealed” as well as Anderson’s own life and relationship with her father, who was himself a veteran.

Both shows launched their new seasons in mid-February due to the impact last year’s dual writers’ and actors’ strike had on broadcast production schedules. “’Ghosts’ and ‘Fire Country’ are proven viewer favorites on both broadcast and streaming thanks to exceptional storytelling, talented actors and an ever-growing fan base,” said Amy Reisenbach, president of CBS Entertainment.
