Emmerdale star Sam Hall has addressed claims he's set to leave the show after reports his character was set to be killed off after 18 years. The actor is known for playing Samson Dingle in the ITV soap, with the character born on screen in 2006 to parents Sam Dingle and Alice Wilson.
But there was tragedy for the newborn when Alice's cancer, which she was diagnosed with while pregnant, progressively worsened. Six months after Samson's birth, Sam helped Alice to die by administrating a fatal dose of morphine and the Dingles were surprised when Sam's brother Cain Dingle took the blame for administering the fatal dose so that Samson did not lose both of his parents.
The following year, Samson was diagnosed with meningitis and was later given the all-clear. In terms of other big storylines, in October 2022, Samson became a father at the age of sixteen after Amelia Spencer gave birth to his daughter Esther following a one-night stand earlier in the year.

But Sam actually first appeared in the role when he was five, making him the fourth actor to portray Samson in the Dales. However, last month, reports emerged that Sam would be leaving the show, with Samson rumoured to be being killed off.
However, in a new interview with Inside Soap magazine, Sam has shut down the rumours and confirmed that he has 'good stories' incoming for him and his long-running character.
"Well, I don’t want to give too much away, but Samson has some big stuff coming up," he continued to the publication. "However, don’t worry, as he’s definitely not being killed
