Emmerdale star Laura Norton has been responding to negative comments about her character's return to the village. The actress has reprised the role of Kerry Wyatt in the ITV soap with her first scenes back airing on Thursday night (March 7).
It's been over a year since Kerry left the village in late 2022 in the wake of her fiancé Al Chapman's death. Struggling with her loss, Kerry landed a job on a cruise ship and encouraged by Chas Dingle, who'd had an affair with Al, she packed up her things and left both of her daughters, Amy and Chloe, behind
But it's fair to say her return to the village was as chaotic as you'd expect from Kerry. Amy and her fiance Matty Baron had been seen setting a date for their wedding but were shocked when Kerry was dropped off by PC Swirling, unmistakably dressed as Cher.

Swirling soon leaves them to allow Kerry to explain the story of how she has been falsely accused of stealing by her fiance - with the revalation of a new partner leaving Amy stunned - but said they'd had a huge row and she threw Malcom's engagement ring in the sea after he accused her of stealing
After a heated argument, a genuinely affectionate Kerry leaves Amy hopeful when she promises she didn’t commit the theft and is back to be a good mum to her family. But later on, the truth was revealed as Kerry removed money and jewellery from her costume.
Emmerdale viewers were quick to react to Kerry's return but it appears Laure spotted a few of the negative comments about her comeback to the Dales.
