Emmerdale star Lucy Pargeter has shared the "weird" moment a fan asked for a picture just moments after welcoming her twins Betsy and Missy in 2017. The actress, 45, who has played Chas Dingle on the ITV soap since 2002, is fiercely protective of her privacy, choosing not to share details of her personal life and family on social media. Speaking to OK! at an exclusive shoot with co-star and best friend Emma Atkins, Lucy recalled the "inappropriate" moment she was approached by a fan in hospital.
Lucy told us: "I was being wheeled from just having a caesarean section down the hospital with my girls in my arms and somebody asked for a picture. "I'd just come off the operating table with my newborn twins, looking like death and somebody asked if it was alright if they had a picture.
"I said: 'Well, it’s not really appropriate,' and he went: 'It’s OK, I’ll just take one of you.' That was a bit weird and inappropriate." Talking about how important her privacy is, Lucy, who also has daughter Lola, 16, said: "When we’re out and about, the kids have no idea [that I’m known]. "They go, ‘Mummy, why did they say hello to you?’ I’m like, ‘It’s just because they watch Mummy doing what I do.’ "They have no idea about what I do for a job, the young ones don’t, and they don’t necessarily need to. As long as I’m providing for them, they don’t need to be a part of that madness." It comes after Lucy previously told OK! that the majority of her strangest fan encounters happen at hospital.
