Lucy Pargeter auditioned for two Emmerdale roles before landing Chas on ITV soap

Emmerdale star Lucy Pargeter has revealed that she auditioned for two other roles on the ITV soap before landing her iconic character Chas Dingle. The actress, 45, has played legendary Chas on the ITV soap since 2002 but prior to this she went up for the role of Charity Dingle, played by her best friend Emma Atkins. Speaking to OK! at an exclusive shoot with Emma, 47, Lucy revealed of whether she had ever auditioned for any other parts before landing Chas: "Yes, I went for the role of Charity! "So it got down to me, Emma and somebody else for the role of Charity.
Also there was a trucker that I auditioned for in Emmerdale a long long time ago. So yeah, I've been up for three roles and got one of them!" Elsewhere, Lucy and Emma also revealed two characters they would love to play on the ITV soap during a game of Confessions at our stunning shoot.
Asked if they both had to play another character on the soap, who it would be, Emma revealed: "For me there are two people, one of whom is still in the show and one who has left. "So Faith Dingle, I think she's pretty cool, she's so funny, she's so charismatic. I can't take my eyes off her when she's onscreen, she manages to make everyone laugh.
