Emmerdale fans were disappointed on Tuesday night as they were unable to get their soap fix due to a schedule change because of the football. Due to ITV’s live coverage of the FA Cup, where Peterborough United play Manchester City, it clashes directly with the popular soap with a schedule shake-up this week.
On Monday 28 February, Emmerdale aired for an hour long-special at 7pm, which made up for Tuesday's episode, which was replaced with the football. On Wednesday 2 March, the episode will air in its usual slot of 7pm.The next day on Thursday 3 March, viewers will have the chance to catch up with the latest village goings on at 7pm.

Friday 4 March will see another hour-long instalment, as fans count down to the weekend. Meanwhile, the soap’s brand new time slots will begin from next week, as Emmerdale and Coronation Street become part of ITV’s super soap nights.
Taking to social media on Tuesday over the cancelled episode, soap watchers shared their frustration. One person said: "Absolutely furious #emmerdale isn’t on tonight like!!" A different account put: "Once again, we miss out because @ITV could broadcast football on ITV4 along with other sporting ties #Emmerdale."
