Elton John & David Furnish spend quality time together amid Coronavirus

As the nation gets ready to applaud the NHS and health workers this evening, Thursday 9 April, at 8pm, to thank them for putting their lives on the line amid the coronavirus outbreak, a whole host of celebrities have put together a candid video to share their gratitude.

Sir Elton John has unveiled the final note he ever received from his best friend Freddie Mercury, who lost his battle with AIDs back in 1991.The Tiny Dancer singer was close to the 45 year old and was one of the very few people allowed to spend time with Freddie before his death. Now, 29 years later, Elton is ready to talk about his last weeks with Freddie, when he was "too frail to get out of bed" and was riddled with pain from the lesions the condition caused him.

The first UK television broadcast of One World: Together At Home - a global televised entertainment special - will air later this month.

At 73 years old, Elton John says he's never seen anything quite like the devastation caused by the current coronavirus pandemic and it's reminded him to be mindful of all those suffering from infectious diseases across the globe.

Elton John has donated $1 million (£820,000) to a coronavirus Emergency Relief Fund to protect those living with HIV/Aids.

Sir Elton John is set to host a benefit “living room concert” featuring performances by Alicia Keys, Billie Eilish and Mariah Carey to provide entertainment during the Covid-19 outbreak.

Elton John is hosting a benefit concert to raise money for Feeding America and First Responders Children’s Foundation.
