In his new memoir Pageboy, the star admitted he felt ‘out of place’ on the set, and that ‘shingles communicated the stress my body felt… despite everyone being delightful to work with. ’He wrote that the infection ‘popped out of my spine’ while he was filming the sci-fi movie, and that ‘in a cast full of cis men I did not understand the role I found myself in. ’Elliot, 36, was also struggling with his personal life, where at the time he was secretly dating a woman who was out about her sexuality and had the support of a community, while he was ‘not settled.
