A man has been taken to hospital after a crash involving a taxi. Police were called to reports of the crash in Swinton last night (June 7).

An elderly man died after he was struck by a motorbike when crossing the road in Oldham.
The horrific crash happened on Ripponden Road at around 4pm yesterday afternoon (Saturday). Emergency services, including police officers, fire crews and paramedics, rushed to the scene.
In an appeal issued today (Sunday), Greater Manchester Police said enquiries have revealed that the elderly man - aged in his 70s - was crossing Ripponden Road when he was hit by the motorbike. Sadly, he died on the scene.

The rider of the bike - a man aged in his 20s - was also rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries. He remains there for treatment.
A stretch of the road was cordoned off as investigations were carried out after the crash. Drivers were urged to avoid the area.
Police now want to speak to any witnesses, or anyone who has footage that may help their investigation. A GMP spokesperson said: "GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident to come forward.
"They are also keen to speak to anyone who may have any footage, including dashcam or mobile phone footage from the area in the moments leading up to the collision. Anyone with any information is asked to contact police on 0161 856 4741 quoting log number 2320 of 18/05/2024.
