Spotify has released the official Coronation Celebration playlist featuring a slew of British legends and songs likely to get local masses in a festive mood, such as Queen’s “We Are the Champions,” David Bowie’s “Let’s Dance,” The Who’s “Love Reign O’er Me” and “Slave to the Rhythm” by Grace Jones. The 27-song playlist, picked on the monarch’s behalf by the U.K.’s Department for Digital, Culture Media and Sport, also features songs by more contemporary pop stars such as Harry Styles, Ed Sheeran and Kate Bush’s “Running Up That Hill (A Deal With God),” which has gained renewed popularity thanks to Season 4 of “Stranger Things.”

Ed Sheeran has spoken about his struggles with suicidal thoughts, and claimed that the UK still has a negative stigma around therapy.The singer-songwriter has opened up about his ongoing battle with depression in a new interview, and explained that he often feels “embarrassed” by them since becoming a father.Although he has faced these issues throughout his life, according to Sheeran, last March marked the toughest time yet. This was due to the passing of two of his close friends: DJ, Jamal Edwards, and Australian cricketer, Shane Warne.Edwards – who helped launch Sheeran’s career – died in February 2022 after suffering a heart attack, triggered by substance use. He was 32.

William Earl Disney+ has landed a four-part Ed Sheeran docu series, “The Sum of It All,” that is set to premiere May 3. The project comes from Disney Branded Television and Fulwell 73 Productions (“Adele: One Night Only”). It coincides with the May 5 release of Sheeran’s latest album, ” -” (aka “Subtract”), from Atlantic. “Ed Sheeran: The Sum of It All” promises to offer a candid look into the British star, his family and his rise to superstardom after suffering with a stutter as a child. “I’ve always been very guarded in my personal and private life; the only documentary I’ve ever made has been one that focused on my songwriting,” Sheeran said. “Disney approached me to make a four-part documentary, and it felt like the right time to open the door and let people in. Live now, the single is from Sheeran’s final album in the mathematical album era, “Subtract.” The six-day TikTok preview features Sheeran performing an acoustic performance of “Eyes Closed.” The single will drop March 24. The album, which will release on May 5, was produced and written with Aaron Dessner of the National and follows his latest release “F64,” which dropped Jan. 19 and memorialized his friend and SBTV founder Jamal Edwards, who died last year at 31. “Subtract” was written against a backdrop of grief and hope. “As an artist I didn’t feel like I could credibly put a body of work into the world that didn’t accurately represent where I am and how I need to express myself at this point in my life. This album is purely that. It’s opening the trapdoor into my soul. For the first time I’m not trying to craft an album people will like, I’m merely putting something out that’s honest and true to where I am in my adult life,” Sheeran said in a message about the album.
